Frequently asked questions

pile of heat packs

What are wheat bags?

Our wheat bags are cotton bags filled with biodynamic, food-grade wheat kernels. They can be heated in a microwave oven and and cooled in a freezer to be used on your body. They are reusable. When used hot, they can help with inflammation by reducing blood flow to the area. When used cold, they can help minimise swelling and reduce muscle spasm and pain.

I am allergic to wheat, do you offer an alternative fill?

Yes! We can offer lupin-filled heat packs to use in the wearable pouch and extra long rectangle heat pack. Lupin-filled heat packs have the same care instructions as wheat-filled heat packs.

You can tick the 'make me wheat-free' when adding the product to your cart.

For the eye pillow, we can use lupins but you'll need to get in touch so we can discuss what fabrics are available. Email us at: hello@thehappyuterus.com.au or DM us on Instagram: @thehappyuterusau

How do I use the heat packs?

We have three products. Please follow the instructions for the product you intend on using.

To use hot:

  1. Remove the heat pack from the pouch.
  2. Place the heat pack in the microwave. Heat on HIGH for 1 minute.

  4. Once warm, place it into the pouch. Close the button on the pouch. Test the temperature on the inside of your wrist to make sure it is safe to place on your body.
  5. Place the pouch on you and fasten the strap around your body.

To use cold:

  1. Remove the heat pack from the pouch.
  2. Place the heat pack in a freezer bag and in the freezer for at least one hour.

Eye pillow

The eye pillow is designed to be used cold or at room temperature, but you can also slightly warm it.

To use cold:

  1. Place the eye pillow in a freezer bag and in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Once cold, place the eye pillow over your eyes

To use hot:

  1. Place the eye pillow in the microwave. Heat on HIGH for 30 seconds.

I don't have a microwave, can I heat it up in something else?

No. Please do not heat up the heat pack in anything other than a microwave oven.

How do I look after my heat pack?

All heat packs come with care instruction card. Do not wash the wheat bags, only spot clean with a damp cloth.

If you have purchased a wearable pouch, you can take out the heat pack and hand wash the pouch.
